The Student Concerto Competition info for 2016

APPLICATION DEADLINE - Tuesday, February 21, 2017
AUDITIONS - Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Canandaigua
CONCERT - Sunday May 7, 2017

Applicants must be residents of Ontario, Seneca, Monroe, Wayne, Livingston, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, or Yates counties (pianists and vocalists are not eligible, nor are previous winners). Piano accompaniment is required for auditions.

This year's winner will have the opportunity to perform a solo with the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra during their Spring Concert on May 7, 2017, and also will receive a cash award.

Concert Master Search

Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra is searching for a Concert Master. This community orchestra seeks to employ a leader with experience in string section management and orchestra knowledge.

The new person must be able to work well with our Music Director and Conductor on finalizing programs, creating bowings, and encouraging player participation.

Most rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings. The FLSO performs 3 major concerts, 2 nutcracker performances, and at least 3 summer pops concerts. Please contact Holger Stave, President at or mail resumes to FLSO, P.O. Box 988, Canandaigua, NY 14425.
